I am by no stretch of the imagination an SKS expert and that being said really have know idea if the sources that i obtained the info from is reliable or not.īUT. with further research I discovered that the 3 chinesse characters on the side stood for "type 56" and finally with the stamped "3" on the base of the rear site that it was likely a "Police" or "Special Security" version.Īs a disclaimer. (56 17 = 73) and also previously unseen with the other stock on there was the factory code ( /156\) which what ever factory in china that it was made in. The sn is 1700008, which after some extensive research I found out that that was the year of manufacture code. I disassembled the gun and gave it its first good cleaning (since I got it) and after removing the aftermarket stock I noticed that there were 2 more numbers in front of the 00008. ![]() Once again I am dragging a$$ on my replies. ![]()
